Return On Performance Magazine to Present CEO Summit at The Motivation Show
CHICAGO (June 6, 2011)— Return on Performance™ (ROP) magazine has announced it will present a half-day program during The Motivation Show entitled, “The CEO Summit: Creating Organizational Value Through Partnership With People”. The CEO Summit is scheduled to begin at 8:30am on Thursday, October 6, and will include two morning education sessions, an exclusive CEO luncheon, and an opportunity to visit the Exhibit Hall in the afternoon. The Motivation Show meets Tuesday, October 4 through Thursday, October 6, in Chicago’s McCormick West.
“Return on Performance is the definitive voice of the incentive marketing industry,” said Jill Andreu, Publisher. “Our mission is to provide the latest best practice strategies and research to engage, align and motivate employees, business partners and customers to yield measurable corporate results. Sharing this information with senior and mid-level executives will be the focus of this first CEO Summit, so we are delighted to present this program during The Motivation Show.”
The program will begin with The New Leadership Model: Driving Business Growth in a People-Led Economy, presented by The Forum: Business Results Through People (The Forum), affiliated with Northwestern University. The Forum proposes a new view of business as a purveyor of relationships. In any business, success is a result of a spectrum of relationships. The new role of leadership is to build and optimize these connections so that the company—and its people—can prosper and thrive. The Forum has defined these stakeholders as the critical “Human Value Connections” that will lead organizations to sustainable growth in the new economic landscape of the “People-Led Economy.”
Michelle M. Smith, CPIM, CRP, Vice President, Business Development, O.C. Tanner, will present groundbreaking and tested research from The Forum that proposes a new model for leadership that embraces a broad spectrum of constituencies and focuses on “enrichment,” rather than engagement. It will be these groups’ ability to innovatively solve new problems, adapt to unexpected challenges, and connect their contributions to society at large that will position all business for success. And how the C-suite leads, motivates, and defines value, will all have to change. Michelle will explore this shift in strategy and the many advantages of pursuing enrichment leadership practices.
This first session will be followed by Success uncovered – How the FORTUNE World’s Most Admired Companies sustain performance, presented by Hay Group.
Whatever the business climate, some companies always turn up high in the FORTUNE World’s Most Admired Companies (WMAC) rankings. The ability to sustain performance in good times and bad is a distinguishing feature of these top organizations. How do they do it? According to Hay Group, they make every employee part of the solution. WMACs realize there is no point driving new business and innovating if you can’t then execute. They work hard to improve efficiency and effectiveness. What makes them stand out, though, is the degree to which they involve their employees in this process.
Tom McMullen, Vice President, North American Reward Practice Leader, Hay Group, and Mark Royal, Senior Consultant, Hay Group Insight, will explain how to use the practices of the World’s Most Admired Companies to best effect in your organization.
The CEO Luncheon at noon will provide attendees with an opportunity to network with their peers in a roundtable luncheon format and discuss performance management in their organizations. The afternoon is open for exploring the exhibit hall and meeting with suppliers who possess the expertise to help them design and implement a performance improvement program for their organizations.
“ROP and The Motivation Show are both dedicated to informing and educating C-level executives, including CEOs, CFOs, COOs and senior managers, on how incentives and recognition awards can be used as a management tool to improve performance,” said Pete Erickson, Managing Director of The Motivation Show. “We think this is a natural partnership for both organizations and look forward to offering the CEO Summit each year at The Motivation Show as an integral part of our education offering.”
